Department of Inter-Religious Studies

The Department of Inter-Religious Studies (DIRS), based in St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, was begun by the Bombay Province Jesuits to promote good relations between practitioners of different faiths. Through diploma courses, public lectures, student research, and inter-cultural dialogue, DIRS seeks to cultivate what it calls “cosmic compassion” — on campus and beyond.
